My Story
Hello! My name is Michelle, I am the face behind Let’s Play Badge Co. I am a happily married mother of two young daughters. My journey into motherhood started in the NICU with both of my girls, which allowed me to see the patient (and patient’s parent) side of the same children’s hospital I worked in.

My Training
I graduated from college with a degree in Family Science and Psychology with an emphasis in childhood development, I went on to work in a children’s hospital in the Child Life Department where my play based practices came into action. My husband's job has required us to move frequently which does not lend itself to a hospital job anymore. I decided to take my education and passion for play based coping strategies and find a way to continue to help parents and kiddos!

My Heart
I loved watching play based intervention calm, distract and deescalate a stressful situation. Although I don’t have the opportunity to work directly in children’s hospitals at this time, I have used my education and experience to create therapeutic coping, identifying, educating, breathing and many more badge cards for any healthcare worker (or parents) to attach to an ID badge/lanyard and whip out at any moment!
Many pediatric healthcare workers (or anyone who works with kids on a regular basis) might need information, intervention, or distraction at a moment's notice. This is the same reason many healthcare workers and students attach “cheat sheet/reference” badge cards to refresh information.

My heart is for anyone working with babies and kiddos whether that is child life specialists, nurses, doctors, students, OT’s, PT’s, SLP’s, counselors, teachers, social workers, dental offices and many more (even parents!). You all do INCREDIBLE work and my hope is that I can make your job just a little bit easier!
